Clancy McDaniel — As Executive Director of StudentsNS, Clancy is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization in accordance with the direction of the Board of Directors, notably as the organization’s primary spokesperson, lobbyist, and manager. Prior to this role, Clancy served as the Vice President External Affairs for the StFX Students' Union, and wears her X-Ring with pride. Clancy is excited to contribute to policy development, stakeholder engagement, and government relations on behalf of students, with the hopes of making Nova Scotia post-secondary more accessible, affordable, and of the highest quality, while involving students in the process. In her free time, Clancy enjoys cooking, hiking, and volunteering with various organizations, such as the Tim Hortons' Children's Foundation.

Policy & Advocacy Coordinator

Lydia Houck — As the Policy and Advocacy Coordinator for StudentsNS, Lydia is looking forward to developing a greater understanding of Nova Scotia’s post-secondary education system while advocating on behalf of students across the province. She hopes to accomplish this in part through the creation of a policy paper addressing an issue affecting post-secondary students in Nova Scotia. In particular, she is interested in the policies and initiatives addressing social issues such as post-secondary mental health. Lydia is a CO-OP student from Acadia University and will be entering her fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in the fall. In her spare time, she enjoys playing music, exploring nature, eating great food and watching great movies.
